Yes, I am literally on the couch right now. And have spent most of my time here for the past week. So this review promises to be not very exciting at all.
Anyway. This happened:
I just woke up Tuesday morning with a pain in my ankle /foot. Then it suddenly got worse that night, to the point where I couldn’t put any weight on it and it was super swollen. So Wednesday we went to the orthopedic urgent care, where they confirmed nothing was fractured and gave me the stylish accessories pictured above.
I managed to make a pumpkin pie despite the boot and crutches, because I consider it a Thanksgiving requirement. Fortunately baking does not require two functional feet. And my husband made the actual meal – shepherd’s pie and salad. Clearly we weren’t feeling very ambitious about side dishes.
My foot was at least well enough to leave the house by Saturday (the cabin fever was getting severe). I spent a grand total of $1 on brand name jeans and a silk top, because our local consignment store has the best sales.
Whatever happened to my foot is now 95% healed…but yesterday I woke up with a sore throat and headache, so I’m back on the couch again. Hopefully I’ll (finally) be up and active like a normal human within the next few days.
What food do you consider a holiday requirement?

Oh geez. What the heck happened!?!? I’m sorry you had/are having to deal with this. At least there was still pumpkin pie. You know your priorities.
Sending you all the healing vibes. Both for feet and for sinuses…

I have no idea! I just stood up and my foot was like, “nope”.
Wow! Whatever was wrong with your foot/ankle sure did heal quickly. Thank goodness it was nothing serious. Fresh pumpkin pie warm from the oven (with Coolwhip) is my favorite Thanksgiving treat! Thanks for linking.
Pumpkin pie is the best!
Oh no!!! I hate to see you sporting this boot but good thing nothing broke! Glass half full right? Ahh Shepherds Pie.. Oh man I have been craving some for weeks!
Time to make yourself some shephard’s pie then!
oh wow that is a strange injury! I really hope that you are feeling better now

Almost back to normal
Oh, wow…..glad nothing was broken, but what a bummer! Holiday requirement? Well, I gotta have turkey, gravy, and the pumpkin pie. The leftovers are paramount 😉

I will eat pumpkin pie leftovers all week long.
Noooo! I’m so sorry to hear about your foot! I’m glad your foot got better quickly, and I hope the rest of you recovers soon!
That’s awesome that you got such an amazing deal! The consignment stores near me never have deals that awesome! :O
Our consignment store puts out $1 racks every so often. I have found the best deals there.
I need one of those around here!! *-*
Oh nooooo! How frustrating that your foot got better only to find yourself sick with a cold too! Major bummer!!
Pumpkin pie is definitely a thanksgiving requirement in our house too!

It’s my favorite pie!
Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear about the foot and impending cough. I hope you managed to shake both off last week, not literally of course because the bum leg.
Hang in there.
