When last we talked, I was in a close relationship with my couch. Thankfully, my couch/butt contact time is (finally) back to normal. The range of motion for the injured ankle is not 100% back to normal, but slowly getting there.
By Wednesday last week I was mostly over my cold, and also antsy from a week of mostly hanging around my house. So I went right into a normal day of activity, including walking around campus, going to the gym (but still avoiding ankle-flexing exercises), and some overdue grocery shopping. By the end of the day my foot and ankle were painful again, so I backed off for the rest of the week and only did a little yoga.
But on the plus side, I was out of the house every day. You think you’re a homebody until you’re forced to be….
And now I’m sitting at the airport waiting to board. And typing this on my phone…so I’m going to leave it at that for now. Check back next week for a marginally more exciting update.
What’s your travel necessity? All I really need is enough books to keep me occupied…

Super super glad to read this… that you are on the mend and were able to return to some more “exciting” regular life stuff last week. You don’t realize how wonderful the outside is until you are trapped in your house. Safe travels!

It’s true…I love staying home but I also want the option of leaving!
I’m excited to hear about your travels! Here’s hoping you left your foot/ankle pain at home and it doesn’t give you any trouble!!

No more pain, but still not fully normal…
I’m glad to hear your foot is doing better and the cold is gone. There’s nothing worse than being stuck in the house so it’s good you were able to get out.
Safe travels and happy reading.

I’m kind of a homebody but I was really done with my house by the end of that week…
I hope your ankle is much better by now. It’s hard to be patient with any type of injury! I’m a sucker for phone app games (like Pet Rescue or Alphabetty) while traveling. Thanks for linking.
Almost better!
Yay! Glad to hear that your range of motion is coming back! I hope you had a safe trip out and that you have fun on your travels! :]!
It’s coming back, but still at the not-quite-normal stage
[…] Last week, I was in an airport on my way to the Mayo Clinic. Wait, what? Well, I have briefly mentioned the reason on the blog a few times – here, here, and here. But for the most part, I haven’t said much because there wasn’t much to say. […]
