New year, new blog posts? I haven’t quite gotten that ball rolling yet, so in the meantime, here are some older posts you may have missed. These were the most-viewed posts on my blog last year – though the top 3 were actually published in 2016; ;t can sometimes take a while for a post to pick up steam.
These posts cover most of the topics I write about regularly, so if you’re new here, this list is a pretty good representation of what you’re getting yourself into. Hope you enjoy!
Snacks to take hiking: 20 bar & ball recipes
I posted this one about a month after I started the blog and it’s been my most popular post (by far) ever since. It’s as good a post as any to start with, because if you like snacks and hiking…and eating snacks while hiking…we’ll probably get along.
DIY backpacking meals: just add water
Despite my top two posts being food-related, I will not be turning food blogger…because honestly, I have no desire to learn food photography. That said, the photos in this post are bad even by my standards! I guess I will just have to make the recipes again…and you should make them too, because they are tasty, fast, and easy.
Trail running with your dog
If you want to start trail running with your dog there is some good advice here, if I do say so myself. This is my personal favorite post of the list.
Books I Read: May 2017
This one is the most-viewed post that I published in 2017, and honestly I have no idea why. I mean I like the books I reviewed in this post, but there’s nothing that sets the post itself apart from my other book review posts.
On changing plans when your goal becomes a bad idea
A personal ramble/reflection post that apparently resonated with a few other people as well.
What’s your favorite post topic here – running, outdoor activities, food, books, personal reflection, other….?
Bloggers – feel free to share your blog’s favorite or most popular post in the comments!
Linking up with Friday Five
I think the snacks and hiking post grabs me the most…not because I do much hiking (ahem, Iowa), but I’m always looking for healthy snack options.

Snacks forever!
I kind of like the idea of the changing plans post. This has been my year of changing plans when things don’t work out,. I need to do a better job of that.

Yep…I can be stubborn about sticking to the original plan
I am always looking for good books to read. I will have to check that post out.

I have several other book review posts, which probably have more books than that one actually!
I somehow missed your DIY backpacking meals post, so I’m definitely off to check that one out–the premade ones are so expensive!

They are! And of course homemade ones are better anyway 😉
These are all such great posts!
Weirdly enough, every year my most popular posts are the posts on how Jesse and I met and our wedding posts as people tend to find the blog and quickly click over to them so they are constantly getting views.

I guess that’s how you can tell your blog name got people to click!
