Week in review: spring breaking

Honestly, I was going to do a link roundup post today, but I was too lazy to actually write the post. Yes, that’s a pretty easy post to write. But a brain dump post seems even easier right now, so we’re going with this week in review instead. Since it was spring break here, it’s mostly a fun review.

This week I:

Celebrated our anniversary.

We booked a room at the hot springs, ate at their fancy restaurant, and soaked in the hot springs, obviously. Also spent some time futilely explaining to the dog why she couldn’t go play with the dog in the room next door.

Did not get work done.

I did set up the LC-ICP-MS to run some samples. LC-ICP-MS stands for liquid chromatography-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, a process which hopefully ends with the computer spitting out the data that I want. (This is my basic understanding of all the machines I use. I’m trying to get better at that.) Anyway, I set the machine up to run the samples, but it ran out of argon after a few samples. So that was all the work that got done this week.

Read…not as much as I planned.

So last Friday I checked 5 books out from the library. Since then I have read half of one of those books, ~50 pages of another, a book I already owned, and one I got to review. If that sounds like a lot of books for one week, you should know that when I was a kid I was allowed to check out 5 library books per week and some weeks I read them all the same day. So I thought my expectations for this week were reasonable. *shrug*

Ran 3 times. And on trails!

Well, technically on one trail. That was also my longest run since…July. Yep.

Did laundry.

Small victories. Oh, I also ran the Roomba. I’m taking credit for the clean floors, since it’s a robot.

Kinda sorta cleaned out my closet.

More accurately, I pulled out stuff I already knew I needed to get rid of and listed it on Mercari. The full cleaning still needs to happen, but I removed stuff from the closet & dresser so I’m saying it counts as “cleaning out”.

Ordered new shoes.

Yeah, that seems kind of counterproductive to cleaning out the closet, but when you keep wearing flats that are less comfortable than walking barefoot on concrete, it’s time to buy new shoes.

Linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for Weekly Wrap.

What did you accomplish this week?

  1. Sometimes I think laundry is a huge victory, especially when you factor in all the folding. 🙂

Great job on the workouts and happy anniversary!!

A fellow bookworm. I like that. We’ll get along swimmingly.

Welcome to the WIR. I love seeing new faces. I hope you’ll come back again.

Folding is definitely the worst part.

  4. Hi Hannah, it is very nice to meet you. Welcome to the Weekly Wrap, I’m so very glad you are joining us. I look forward to getting to know you and read about your adventures. I too love to travel, we go a lot in our RV. I could live in that thing full time but there’s this thing called a “job” that keeps me from it 🙂
Happy Anniversary to you! What year are your celebrating?
That trail looks very cool bet you get some amazing views from it.

Thank you! It’s our fourth 🙂

  5. Love that you had to explain to the dog why she couldn’t be friends with the dog next door. We do the same with our pup when kids are outside playing. Also, some weeks you just have to celebrate the small victories, and laundry is no small thing so kudos 😉

Oh yes, our dog thinks she can be friends with everyone and everything!

  6. Sometimes I wish my clothes would wash themselves lol (i hate doing laundry)

I’d be ok with washing the clothes if only they’d put themselves away!
